So you think you can draw? Explaining the WP situation with whiteboarding
I need to know whether or not, dear listener and friend, this works for you. I prefer this to slides when code isn’t enough and use of images and zooming in and out of various windows doesn’t help or takes too much effort. I actually draw as I am talking, recording separately makes it difficult to align the drawing with the voice, and I find that I have more natural speech when drawing at the same time. (Ive stopped scripting my videos as I didn’t like that my excitement disappeared).
This video, which is unrehearsed so pardon if it’s not well structured, explain the WP situation. After Build 2014 we have more choices than ever, and its no wonder we get confused. I hope this helps :)
Feedback welcome on the drawing, as well as (as always!) what I actually say and the way I say it. I have a cold so I had to drink during the recording as my throat hurts and is dry- usually I cut that away but I just wanted to post this quickly.

Would be better with a selfie :)
I prefer the whiteboard method you have just done as it felt more personal than slides but that’s just me :-) It felt better than looking at a slide as more is happening I guess it depends on your audience, to upper management I do slides but will end up using the whiteboard anyway. For team meetings I might have a couple of sides of stats but that’s it, everything else is done on the whiteboard Are you sure it was “unrehearsed” as it was really good, didn’t sound unrehearsed me…
Hahaha :D You are referring to the poll I did on Twitter about selfies on tech blogs :)
I love white board presentations just like this. You seem to be a natural at doing these kind of presentations unrehearsed. What tool do you use for recording your whiteboard to get the touch point recorded as well? I truly believe this kind of skill is what will differentiate speakers in the future as our tools are more accessible also from stage.
