Windows 8 on iPad: Splashtop: Can't connect to PC 'could not reach'

If You read my previous post about remoting from your iPad with Splashtop so you could try the awesome new Windows 8 edition and perhaps even test out a few Metro apps/create Metro apps, then you might have received this error att some point:

Make sure that you have installed the latest update to Splashtop app, as well as the SPLASHTOP STREAMER for your computer.

This is a good place to start! Otherwise try restarting computer and iPad, double check which network you are on, firewall settings and any antivirus software you might have installed. good luck!
