My Bachelor Thesis IV: Finishing the first draft

And finally the fourth week comes to an end! We have continued to meet up every morning working until three-four. We have worked in a nice routine with half an hour of chit-chat (and me drinking my morning coffee) at 08:45 am. Afterwards we divide the workload and work until 11am when we eat an early lunch to

iris classon- hopefully a teacher (professor?) one day avoid the lunch-rush of starving students. If we work until four then we have another break at 2pm, if we finish earlier we eat later and then go home afterwards. By now we have written eleven pages, not including references and the abstract. We have finished writing the following parts: introduction (last week), method (earlier this week) and the results (yesterday). Next week our first draft of the entire article has to be ready, but we have planned the process step by step – and so far we are right on schedule.

  • Check up on animal literature regarding the topic (Cecilia) – Thursday/Friday
  • Finish the discussion (me - Thursday/Friday
  • First grammar and spell check (Editor Nr 1) – weekend
  • Supplement with information in introduction, method, results and discussion (together) Monday
  • Add references in Endnote and then article (together) Tuesday
  • Second grammar and spell check (Editor Nr 2) Tuesday
  • Wednesday the article is sent in to our opponents for ‘control’

We have three editing processes, and three different editors to make sure that our language is appropriate and that our article holds an academic standard. English is not our first language, so this part might be of greater importance to us than to others in our class (they are writing in Swedish). Do you want to read more about my thesis?
